Anya Taylor-Joy will portray Seren, a Sindar Elf from the Woodland Realm who serves as a skilled and deadly agent of King Thranduil.
The casting adds another major star to the growing ensemble as Warner Bros. and New Line continue expanding the world of Middle-earth on the big screen.
Directed by Andy Serkis, who also returns to play Gollum, the film takes place between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogies.
The story follows Aragorn and Gandalf as they search for Gollum in an effort to uncover information about Bilbo Baggins’ mysterious ring. Their mission becomes increasingly important as the truth about the One Ring and the threat it poses to Middle-earth begins to emerge.
The Confirmed Cast of Hunt for Gollum
Several familiar faces are set to return to Middle-earth, including Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Elijah Wood as Frodo Baggins, and Lee Pace as Thranduil.
Anya Taylor-Joy joins a lineup of newcomers that reportedly includes Kate Winslet as Marigol, Jamie Dornan as Strider, and Leo Woodall as Halvard, bringing a mix of established stars and fresh talent to the fantasy adventure.
