Record-Breaking Achievement for Chelot

The upcoming Malaysian action film Chelot, directed by Adrian Teh, has officially entered the Malaysia Book of Records for the Longest Single-Take Action Sequence in a Movie.

The production team achieved the record with an unedited action sequence filmed entirely using a single camera. The impressive sequence covers 1.9 kilometres and runs for five minutes and 19 seconds, making it a rare technical achievement for Malaysian cinema.

Massive Production Effort

Bringing the ambitious sequence to life required a massive production effort. The team involved 300 crew members, 150 days of preparation, 60 hours of rehearsals, and 50 prop vehicles to execute the complicated action scene.

Chelot is produced by ACT 2 Pictures, Golden Screen Cinemas, Astro Shaw, SunStrong Entertainment, and Marvellous Culture & Film. The film stars Beto Kusyairy and Shukri Yahaya, with the first teaser poster recently unveiled.

Director Adrian Teh returns to the action genre following his 2022 film MALBATT: Misi Bakara. The filmmaker has described Chelot as a project that aims to offer something fresh to local audiences rather than simply revisiting familiar territory.
