DC’s New Movie Dynamic Duo Has New Release Date

TLDR: DC Studios is moving forward with Dynamic Duo, an upcoming movie centred on two of Batman’s most famous protégés: Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, set to release in 2028.

The pair are best known as the first two characters to take on the Robin mantle before eventually becoming Nightwing and Red Hood.

The New Dick Grayson and Jason Todd

Mason Thames has been cast as Dick Grayson, while Logan Kim will play Jason Todd. The movie will explore the relationship between the two young heroes and their complicated friendship as Batman’s Boy Wonders.

Lee Pace and Steve Buscemi have also joined the cast as characters known as Red Hood One and Red Hood Two. It remains unclear whether these characters will have any connection to the Red Hood Gang from DC Comics.

Dynamic Duo Gets a New Release Date

Warner Bros. has moved Dynamic Duo from its previously announced June 30 release date to September 22, 2028.

The change means 2028 is currently set to feature two major Batman-related theatrical releases, with Dynamic Duo arriving several months after Matt Reeves’ The Batman – Part II.

Whether Dynamic Duo will officially take place within James Gunn and Peter Safran’s wider DC Universe remains uncertain.

Gunn previously expressed interest in making the project part of the DCU, while acknowledging that its distinctive story and filmmaking style could make fitting it into the shared continuity more complicated.

Dynamic Duo is scheduled to hit theaters in Sept 2028.
