Caught Stealing

Caught Stealing follows Hank Thompson (Austin Butler), a former high-school baseball star turned down-on-his-luck bartender in 1990s New York. Hoping for a quiet life, Hank agrees to cat-sit for his eccentric punk neighbor Russ (Matt Smith). But the seemingly harmless favor drags him into a violent criminal underworld, with gangs, crooked cops, and ruthless thugs all gunning for him—though he has no idea why.

As Hank scrambles to survive the chaos, every step pulls him deeper into a whirlwind of danger, dark humor, and betrayal. Forced to rely on his instincts, he must fight through a city that wants to chew him up and spit him out.
