Synopsis

In 2001, Hong Kong actor-director Stephen Chow released Shaolin Soccer, a wildly energetic sports comedy about a group of Shaolin monks who form a soccer team to bring Shaolin kung fu to the masses.

The film became a massive box-office success across Asia and later found a devoted following in the West, thanks to its trademark Chow humor, inventive visual gags, and lovable underdog story.

Alongside Kung Fu Hustle (2004), Shaolin Soccer is now widely regarded as a modern martial arts classic. For years, fans have clamored for sequels to both films—and now, that long-standing wish appears to be coming true, with confirmation that Shaolin Soccer is finally getting a sequel.
