Synopsis
Expanding DC’s new cinematic universe, Supergirl brings Kara Zor-El to the forefront in a darker, more emotional story than audiences have seen before. Unlike her cousin Superman, Kara was raised on a fragment of Krypton, witnessing death, trauma, and survival before coming to Earth.
The film follows Kara as she embarks on a cosmic journey alongside Ruthye, a young alien girl seeking vengeance for her father’s murder. Together, with Kara’s loyal companion Krypto the Superdog, they traverse dangerous worlds in pursuit of the killer, confronting moral dilemmas that force Kara to redefine what justice means to her.
Starring Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El, the film is directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Ana Nogueira, with James Gunn and Peter Safran producing. Supporting cast includes Eve Ridley as Ruthye and Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem, with Jason Momoa making a cameo as Lobo.
Scheduled for release on June 26, 2026, the film adapts the acclaimed Tom King miniseries of the same name, promising a bold and emotionally raw take on the Girl of Steel’s story.
