A24 has officially locked in a release date for its highly anticipated Elden Ring film, scheduled to hit cinemas on Mar 3 2028.

The production has also unveiled a wave of exciting new cast members, adding Tom Burke, Havana Rose Liu, Sonoya Mizuno, Jonathan Pryce, Ruby Cruz, John Hodgkinson, Jefferson Hall, Emma Laird, and Peter Serafinowicz to the lineup.

They will join previously announced actors Kit Connor, Ben Whishaw, Cailee Spaeny, and Nick Offerman.

Elden Ring Movie Character Details and Plot Speculation

While the specifics of which characters each actor will portray remain under wraps, fans are speculating that the film will likely follow a Tarnished journey through The Lands Between.

Major bosses such as Godrick the Grafted and Starscourge Radahn are expected to appear, and the Roundtable Hold is also a likely location to be explored in the story.

Directorial and Production Team for the Elden Ring Movie

The film will be directed by Alex Garland, known for his work on Ex Machina and Civil War. The production team also includes George R. R. Martin, whose involvement is particularly significant given his contributions to the original Elden Ring game worldbuilding.

This suggests that the film will dive deep into the lore of The Lands Between, staying true to the game’s immersive and expansive storytelling.

Leaked Set Footage and Anticipation

One of the only clues about the film’s content comes from leaked set footage, which appears to show a Church of Marika set in what looks to be Limgrave, based on the green landscape.

With three years remaining until its release, the mystery surrounding the adaptation adds to the excitement, fitting the elusive, cryptic nature typical of FromSoftware’s games.
