Stephen Chow’s Kung Fu Soccer continues its impressive run at the China box office, holding the No. 1 spot for a second consecutive weekend.

From July 17–19, the sports comedy earned USD 73.7 million, bringing its nine-day total to an outstanding USD 214.3 million. The film also ranked as the world’s second highest-grossing movie over the weekend.

The action-comedy follows an amateur women’s football team that combines gravity-defying martial arts with professional football skills as they battle their way toward a major championship, delivering Stephen Chow’s signature blend of comedy, action, and heart.

All Wishes Come True! Also Enter the Race

Pearl Studio’s animated fantasy All Wishes Come True! debuted in second place with a strong USD 30.6 million opening weekend. The family adventure, inspired by Chinese mythology, tells the story of eight ordinary mortals who outwit the gods to become the legendary Eight Immortals. Since opening, the film has earned USD 39.6 million.

Meanwhile, Enlight Pictures’ romantic drama A Part of Me opened in third place with US$13.6 million.

Adapted from the 2015 British film Miss You Already, the movie follows a friendship spanning two decades and stars Zhang Ruonan and Jolin Jin.
