Three decades after his tragic passing, Abnormal Studios is honoring Beyond’s iconic frontman Wong Ka Kui with the film Because of You Ka Kui.
Produced by Yip Sai Wing and Leslie Chan and directed by Rosa Pang, the project was officially launched at the 30th Hong Kong International Film and TV Market (FILMART).
Because of You Ka Kui Will Be More Than Just a Documentary
The film goes beyond simply celebrating a legend. Through intimate conversations with Wong Ka Kui’s closest friends and collaborators, it presents a more personal portrait of the artist behind the fame.

The film is set to be released in Malaysia in Jun 2026, building momentum toward Wong Ka Kui’s birthday on Jun 10. The exact date of the cinematic release is still to be anounced.
It will also be released across Hong Kong, Macau, Mainland China, and Brunei, with additional territories expected to be announced.
